iElisa Sulfamethazine Kit: Precision Food Safety Testing from Clover Technology Group, Inc.

2026-06-22

In the modern agricultural and food production landscape, sulfonamides are widely used as feed additives, primarily for fattening calves and pigs. Combined with dihydrofolate reductase inhibitors such as trimethoprim and tetroxoprim, these compounds also play a vital role in veterinary medicine for treating intestinal infections, mastitis, pulmonitis, and other systemic diseases in livestock. However, the widespread use of sulfonamides carries a significant public health concern: sulfonamide residues—particularly the carcinogenic sulfamethazine—can persist in animal-derived foods such as meat and milk, posing a threat to human health.

To address this critical food safety challenge, regulatory bodies worldwide have established strict maximum residue limits (MRLs). Under EU law, the permissible limit for all sulfonamide-group substances is 100 ppb in muscle, fat, liver, and kidney, and 100 ppb in milk. Ensuring compliance with these stringent standards demands reliable, sensitive, and efficient detection methods—and that is precisely where Clover Technology Group, Inc. excels.

Introducing the iElisa Sulfamethazine Kit

Clover Technology Group, Inc. is proud to offer the iElisa Sulfamethazine Kit—a state-of-the-art competitive direct ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of sulfamethazine in grain and processed grain products. This kit delivers precise concentration measurements in parts per billion (ppb), empowering food producers, quality control laboratories, and regulatory agencies to safeguard public health with confidence.

How It Works

The iElisa Sulfamethazine Kit operates on a competitive direct ELISA principle. Free sulfamethazine in the sample and controls competes with enzyme-labeled toxin (conjugate) for antibody binding sites. Following a wash step, the substrate reacts with the bound enzyme conjugate to produce a blue color. The intensity of the color developed is inversely proportional to the concentration of sulfamethazine in the sample—allowing for accurate, quantitative analysis that meets the most demanding regulatory requirements.

Comprehensive Kit Contents

Clover Technology Group has engineered the iElisa Sulfamethazine Kit to be complete and user-friendly, including everything needed for seamless testing:

  • Microtiter plate (8 wells × 12) precoated with antibodies to mouse IgG

  • Six sulfamethazine standard solutions (1 mL each) at concentrations of 0, 0.5, 2.0, 5.0, 20.0, and 50.0 ng/mL (0, 0.5, 2.0, 5.0, 20.0, and 50.0 ppb)

  • Antibody (100×) and Enzyme Conjugate (100×)

  • Washing buffer (10×), antibody and enzyme diluent buffer, and three dedicated diluent buffers (A, B, and C)

  • TMB substrate and stop solution

  • Comprehensive product manual

This all-in-one kit design minimizes preparation time, reduces the risk of errors, and ensures reproducible results across multiple testing runs.
